Ella has quickly become a popular spot for travellers for its profuse scenery and numerous fun adventures to be had in the region. Little Adam’s Peak is one of those things not to miss on your next visit to Ella, Sri Lanka.
Little Adam’s Peak is 1141m above sea level and aptly got it’s name after it’s big brother Adam’s Peak. This is a much larger mountain located in the west of Sri Lanka in Nuwara Eliya and both peaks are said to have similarities in shape. Little Adam’s Peak is a very short hike with a very big reward, with its spectacular views of the surrounding mountains in the region and an easy hike suitable for all ages.
HOW TO GET TO LITTLE ADAM’S PEAK
The way up to Little Adam’s Peak is very easy to find and the trail is clearly marked with signs showing the way. The entrance is next to 98 Acres Resort where you can also see a statue of a white buddha. I went on this hike for sunset and it only took me 45 minutes to an hour to reach the top. Allocate yourself a bit more time to take photos on the way up, as it is absolutely stunning!

The beginning of the trail to Little Adam’s Peak
As the dirt path comes to an end you will come to a set of stairs which will lead you up to the top of Little Adam’s Peak. Here you will find a perfect look out point to see the sunset and enjoy the panoramic views of the valley! But don’t end your hike here. Follow the trail along the ridge because the view gets much better!
There are many different rocky out crops on the side of the ridge trail that are an ideal spot to get some epic photos facing out towards Ella Rock.
My friends and I hung out with some friendly stray dogs on the top of Little Adam’s Peak as we enjoyed an epic sunset over the valley!
