Corregidor Island, also known as Casolian Island, is a dreamy tropical island in the south of the Philippines. On your next visit to Siargao, make sure to jump on a Corregidor tour and explore the incredible landscapes and colourful coral reefs that this location has to offer.
WHERE IS CORREGIDOR ISLAND PHILIPPINES & HOW TO GET THERE
Corregidor Island is located in the south of the Philippines right next to the more popular island, Siargao. Corregidor Island is only accessible by boat, which is a 45-minute journey across the channel from General Luna in Siargao.

WHERE TO BOOK A CORREGIDOR TOUR
I booked my Corregidor tour with Secret Spot Siargao Hostel. Adi, the owner of the hostel, organisers Corregidor day tours with a private boat and skipper that will take you over to Corregidor Island Philippines for only 1,300 pesos. This is far cheaper than any other boat company in General Luna. The tour includes a return boat ride to Corregidor Island, entrance fees, a guide, lunch, drinks and good times!
WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE CORREGIDOR TOUR
At 10am, my friends and I jumped on our private boat that was waiting on the beach directly in front of the Secret Spot Siargao Hostel. The trip over the channel to Corregidor Island is a 45-minute journey, passing Naked Island and Hanoyoy Island.
The skipper beached the boat on Corregidor Beach, a glistening white sand coastline complimented by a palm tree forest, turquoise water and a colourful reef. I was in disbelief of how incredibly beautiful this island is before I even stepped foot off the boat.
The first few hours on the Corregidor tour were spent snorkelling in the crystal clear waters, climbing palm trees and enjoying a freshly cooked barbeque lunch and cold beers. The local residents of Corregidor offer cooking services on the island, so we handed over our food and they prepared a feast for us all. The cost for the cooks is included in the Corregidor tour price.

After lunch, a hike to the other side of the island is included in the Corregidor tour. My friends and I followed our guide into the palm tree rainforest, passing by the only village on the island. There were kids playing basketball, teenagers singing karaoke from their homes and elderly people watering their gardens. The beautifully slow pace of life on this island is something else!
The hike on Corregidor day tour continued along a pebbly beach and up a large grass hill, and at the top was one of the most majestic and interesting landscapes I have ever seen. Coconut palm trees, rolling hills, long grass, water buffaloes and secluded beaches. I literally felt like I was dreaming… My friends and I were in awe and speechless of what we had discovered. See the images below to get an idea of what I am talking about.

There is so much exploring to do on Corregidor Island and many awesome spots for photo opportunities. I sent up my DJI Mavic Pro Drone to get some aerial photos and videos which was the best idea I had all day. Corregidor Island from the air had me in disbelief that this place was even real!
The day was coming to an end so we made our way back to the starting point of our hike, had another quick swim in the ocean and jumped on board our boat for departure back to Siargao.
CORREGIDOR ISLAND TOUR – THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
There are no shops to buy food or drinks on Corregidor Island Philippines so it is necessary to have these items prepared before heading over from Siargao. When you book a Corregidor tour with the guys at Secret Spot Siargao Hostel, food and drinks will all be provided so you won’t need to worry about shopping before the tour.
The Corregidor island tour is not included in the Siargao island hopping tour (Guyam, Daku, Naked Island). It is a stand-alone island with only day tours available.
If you plan to go snorkelling on Corregidor Island Philippines you will have to have your own equipment as there is nowhere to rent a mask and snorkel on the island. General Luna in Siargao has a number of retail stores where you can pick up a quality snorkel set for around 1000 pesos.
