WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE AIR
Jay, the chief pilot at Hot Air Balloon Gold Coast, fired up the flames which lifted our basket off the ground with ease.
As we took the skies, Jay navigated the hot air balloon swiftly across the tops of local farms that cover the wide-open plains of the Gold Coast hinterland.
The sun began to rise up slowly over the ocean, emitting a magical orange glow across the region and lighting up the distant mountain peaks. I have to admit, this was one of the most incredible sights on the Gold Coast I have seen!
Jay really put on a show, spinning the hot air balloon around in all directions to give everyone the best possible views of the region from their corner of the basket.
The airspace was dotted with a few other colorful balloons and we floated aimlessly across the treetops with distant views of the Border Ranges and the Surfers Paradise skyline.
The hot air balloon ride lasts for about one hour and as the flight comes to an end, the pilot will notify everyone to take their landing positions which requires squatting down inside the basket and holding on to the rope handles.
The basket will land safely on the ground in an open field and the courtesy bus will be there waiting to take you to breakfast.
