WHAT TO EXPECT AT MAG ASO FALLS
The Mag Aso Falls is an 8-meter waterfall that is surrounded by a tropical backdrop of tall trees and wild plants.
Carved out under the waterfall is a natural pool that is particularly inviting to go for a swim due to its milky blue colored water derived from the limestone rocks in the area.
Do note that the rocks around the edge of the falls can become extremely slippery when they are wet. I recommend bringing a pair of slip-on waterproof shoes with you.
Waterproof Shoes: Definitely consider purchasing a pair of waterproof shoes! It’s likely you’ll visit at least one waterfall or partake in some watersports during your travels and these comfortable, anti-slip, quick-dry shoes are perfect for all water activities.
The large rock pools underneath the Mag Aso Falls makes for a perfect spot to cliff jump. I always like to make sure the landing is clear of debris and large rocks before doing any cliff jumping so I recommend you do the same.
You can swim over to Mag Aso falls from the outer edges and climb up into the natural jacuzzi pool to experience a head massage under the falls. There is also a small cave that can be found under the waterfall.
Mag Aso Falls boasts a picturesque atmosphere making it a great place to relax and unwind in a pool of healthy mineral-rich water.
Down by the falls is an undercover seating area where you can set down your belongings while you go for a swim. There are also changing rooms and toilet facilities, however, they didn’t appear to be very well maintained.
Mag Aso Falls is a great place to visit when in Bohol and it’s usually uncrowded as it doesn’t appear in many Bohol tour itineraries. When we visited Mag Aso Falls it was just us and one other couple.
