Throwing yourself over the edge of the cliffs at Molave Cliff Diving Resort is one of the most adrenaline-pumping things to do in Bohol.

Panglao island in the Philippines is far more than just beaches and resorts, but rather an island offering a mecca of adventures such as caving, island hopping, scuba diving and cliff jumping.

I have put together this complete guide to cliff jumping in Panglao at the Molave Cliff Diving Resort including how to get there, how much it costs and what to expect!

Have you got travel insurance for Philippines? I know that nobody likes to talk about this stuff but accidents can happen and having World Nomads Insurance can save you thousands of dollars if something goes wrong.

WHERE IS MOLAVE CLIFF DIVING RESORT

Molave Cliff Diving Resort is located on the northern coastline of Panglao Island in Bohol, Philippines.

From the main tourist area of Alona Beach in Panglao, it’s a short 15-minute drive to reach the Molave Cove Cliff Dive.

GoPro Hero 8: One of the most popular cameras on the planet! I love using the GoPro Hero 8 for all my underwater shots and fast-paced adventures. The GoPro Hero 8 captures the best moments with its wide range of features that are very simple to use!

HOW TO GET THERE

The best way to get to reach this cliff jump spot in Panglao is to rent a scooter from one of the many scooter rental stores dotted around Alona Beach. Scooter rentals are around 300 – 350 pesos per day.

Alternatively, you can jump in the back of a tricycle and ask the driver to drop you over to the Molave Cliff Diving Resort. For a 15-minute drive in a tricycle, you can expect to pay around 100 – 150 pesos. Put your bartering skills to the test!

MOLAVE CLIFF DIVING RESORT ENTRANCE FEE

There is an entrance fee of 50 pesos to go cliff diving in Panglao and the opening hours are from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Sunday.

If you wish to go snorkeling in Molave Cove, which I highly recommend, you can rent a mask and snorkel at Molave Cliff Diving Resort for around 100 pesos.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT MOLAVE CLIFF DIVING RESORT

Once you’ve paid the entry fee you can head straight down to the cliffs, find a spot to perch up and set down your belongings.

There are half a dozen wooden huts with tables and chairs available for rent but in my opinion, they are a waste of money.

Just set your things down on the rocks and your bag should generally be safe, though I do recommend leaving your valuables at the hotel just to be sure.

The Molave Cliff Diving Resort features a 5-meter high diving board straight into the clear blue ocean below. It’s best to run and jump off the diving board as there is a certain landing point that is clear of rocks.

If you are not 100% confident, just ask the lifeguard on duty exactly where to land and watch some other keen jumpers go first.

To exit the water, it’s a 20 to 30-meter swim in shallow waters to a staircase that leads back to the clifftop. It’s possible to walk across the reef to reach the stairs though it’s rugged in some areas and there is the odd sea urchin.

Best to bring a pair of slip-on waterproof shoes to avoid getting cut up feet.

Waterproof Shoes: Definitely consider purchasing a pair of waterproof shoes! It’s likely you’ll visit at least one waterfall or partake in some watersports during your travels and these comfortable, anti-slip, quick-dry shoes are perfect for all water activities.

It’s the safest and most adrenalin-driven cliff dive in Bohol so you have got nothing to worry about! My friends and I spent an hour or so at Molave Cove Cliff Dive throwing ourselves over the edge countless times.

SNORKELING AT MOLAVE COVE

Once you’ve tired yourself out from all the cliff diving, grab a mask and snorkel and check out the underwater world in Molave Cove.

There are said to be large balls of sardines off the edge of the reef in Molave Cove so keep a close eye out for them. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any sardine balls when I visited but I was lucky enough to spot a couple of sea turtles so I guess I can’t complain too much!

There is a netted off snorkeling and swimming area in front of Molave Cliff Diving Resort so you won’t have to worry about any boats running into you.
