DISCOVER NUNGNUNG WATERFALL IN BALI!
Nungnung Waterfall is a must-see location on your next adventure in Bali! Nungnung Waterfall is rated as one of the best Bali waterfalls on the island and it’s easy to see why!
I have put together this ultimate guide to Nungnung Waterfall including how to get there, how much it costs and what to expect when you arrive!
Have you got travel insurance for Bali? I know that nobody likes to talk about this stuff but accidents can happen and having World Nomads Insurance can save you thousands of dollars if something goes wrong.
WHERE IS NUNGNUNG WATERFALL (AIR TERJUN NUNGNUNG)
Nungnung Waterfall is located in the mountains of the North of Bali in the Bedugul region.
From Canggu, Seminyak, or Kuta it’s approximately a 1.5 hours drive to reach Nungnung Waterfall.
If you are heading to Nungnung Waterfall from Ubud, the drive is a little shorter and takes only 1-hour.
As you approach the village of Nungnung, you will trace the road via hilly rice fields and coconut palm plantations.

NUNGNUNG WATERFALL ENTRANCE FEE
Nungnung Waterfall entrance fee is 10,000 IDR which you will have to pay at a small ticket office before making your way down to Nungnung Waterfall.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT AIR TERJUN NUNGNUNG
The hike down to Nungnung Waterfall takes approximately 20 minutes. The track is clear and you will also have to attack a steep set of concrete stairs that will without a doubt give your legs a good workout. But don’t worry too much because it’s all worth it when you make it down to the base of Air Terjun Nungnung!
Of all the incredible waterfalls that I have explored in Bali, Nungnung Waterfall makes it on to my top 7 Best Bali Waterfalls list!
It is possible to swim in the rock pool beneath the 50-meter waterfall though do so at your own risk. The water discharge at Nungnung Waterfall Bali is one of the most powerful ones I have come across.
There is lots of exploring to do around the basin at Nungnung Waterfall and the best spot for photos is on the bamboo bridge that crosses the stream.

NUNGNUNG WATERFALL – THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
The best time to visit Nungnung Waterfall (Air Terjun Nungnung) is in the morning between 10 am-12 pm for the best lighting from the sun.
There are several angles to shoot Nungnung Waterfall from, my personal favorite is with the bamboo bridge in the foreground. The spray in the amphitheater beneath the falls can soak your camera lens, so be prepared with a lens wiper.
I always tend to pack a lunch and plenty of drinking water on my daily adventures throughout Bali, however, you can always find warungs (local restaurants) at basically every waterfall location, including Nungnung Waterfall. A local dish of nasi goreng or mie goreng costs around $2 and bottled water for $1.
