WHAT IS THE BEST AREA TO STAY IN BOHOL?

The most popular and best area to stay in Bohol Philippines is Panglao.

Panglao Island is home to stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a wide range of accommodations, from budget-friendly hostels to luxurious resorts.

On top of that, you can also find a variety of restaurants, bars, and souvenir stores in the area.

Definitely! Bohol has plenty of family-friendly activities that families with kids will surely enjoy.

Chocolate Hills, for instance, is a natural wonder that both adults and children will love to see.

You can also visit the Tarsier Sanctuary to get up close with the world’s smallest primates which kids love.

WHERE TO STAY IN BOHOL FOR NIGHTLIFE?

The best area to stay in Bohol for nightlife is Alona Beach. Nestled in Panglao Island, Alona Beach is known for its lively bars and restaurants that stay open until late at night.

You can enjoy live music, fire dancers, and other entertainment while sipping on your favorite cocktail or beer.

While here, make sure to visit Aluna Beach Lounge, which opens until 3 am and serves great beer and cocktails!

BEST AREAS TO STAY IN BOHOL

As mentioned above, I have divided this post into two different tourist areas to make your selections easier when looking for where to stay in Bohol Philippines.

Panglao and Anda are the two best areas to stay in Bohol, let me elaborate below.

Panglao (West Bohol)

Panglao is hands-down the most popular and best area to stay in Bohol due to its close proximity to the main ferry port which is just a 45-minute drive.

Also, Panglao International Airport is a short 10-minute drive to the center of Panglao Town.

Panglao is great for beaches, shopping, restaurants, bars, cafes, nightlife, boat tours, and island tours.

There are so many things to do in Panglao that you could easily spend 1 week here and not get bored – it’s simply the best place to stay Bohol.

Anda (East Bohol)

Anda is located on the far eastern tip of Bohol Island, approximately a 3-hour drive from Panglao.

Not many tourists make the effort to travel out to Anda but this is a big mistake!

I spent 4 days in Anda and it offers many adventurous things to do such as cave pools, snorkeling, hiking, viewpoints, boat tours, secluded white sand beaches, waterfalls, and more!

Anda is very underrated and relatively untouched, making it the perfect place to explore epic locations without battling the crowds that you will find in Panglao.

BEST THINGS TO DO IN BOHOL

Now that you’ve got all the information on where to stay in Bohol, be sure to read my Ultimate Bohol Travel Guide31 Epic Things To Do In Bohol.

BEST TIME TO VISIT BOHOL

The best time to visit Bohol, weather-wise, is between April and July when temperatures are hot and there is barely any rainfall.

This is also high season in Bohol so expect to see many tourists during these months.

I recommend visiting Bohol during the shoulder months of the high season between November and March which sees a bit of rainfall but usually only lasts for a couple of hours and the rest of the day is sunny.

Try to avoid the monsoon season which is between August and October – Even if you’re in the best area to stay Bohol, you don’t want to deal with rain when coming to the Philippines.
