Wanagiri Hidden Hill viewpoint is in the northern region of the island and it has one of the BEST VIEWPOINTS I’ve been to in Bali. It is also known as the ‘selfie peak region’ and for a good reason!
This viewpoint originally used too be a few small road side warungs, set up as a rest stop for the locals to have a meal and a coffee with a view. It is now a popular ‘selfie’ spot attracting tourists and locals from all over the island.
The small warungs have been relocated and the new and improved viewpoint consists of man-made bamboo amusement features over looking Lake Buyan.

HOW TO GET TO WANAGIRI HIDDEN HILL VIEWPOINT
I left my villa in Canggu at 5am in the morning to ride out to this epic viewpoint for sunrise. It is still dark at this time and the temperature drops the more north you drive in to the mountains. The ride takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes and I recommend to rug up as it gets quite cold. It is an easy location to find with the use of google maps on your smartphone.
COST + BEST TIME TO VISIT WANAGIRI HIDDEN HILLS
There is a small entrance fee of $2 to take photos on the bamboo lookouts. Though because I arrived so early, there was no one around to take my money so I had to jump the fence to get in. A little old lady across the street saw me leap over and didn’t look to happy about it haha.
The earlier you go the better to avoid the crowds and to take a good shot with out someone being a photo bomb.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT WANAGIRI HIDDEN HILL VIEWPOINT
There are bamboo features such as swings, human size bird nests, wooden teacups, lookout towers, the bow of a boat, wooden stars and tree houses.
OTHER POINTS OF INTEREST NEAR THE SELFIE PEAK REGION
After you have had your fun playing around on these amusement features, there are some waterfalls close by to here and worth a visit. I can personally recommend Banyu Wana Amertha Hidden Falls, Aling-Aling, Git-Git & Sekumpul.
NORTH BALI ACCOMMODATION
If you want to spend more than one day exploring this side of the island it is best to stay in Singaraja. A coastal town with beautiful beaches and easy access to the mountains and waterfalls. I have stayed at Pop Hotel in the past and it is very affordable with great customer service and ocean view rooms! Click HERE to look and book your accommodation.
Get out there and enjoy the northern regions of Bali before it becomes too popular and saturated with tourists. I promise you will go home after a day of exploring with a full memory card and a smile from ear to ear. This place is far too photogenic!
Drop me a comment below if you have any more questions about this area of Bali and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for reading and Happy Adventuring 🙂
