When it comes to searching for where to stay in Siargao, it’s pretty much a no-brainer with most people staying in General Luna because it’s the most populated area and a hub of activity.
General Luna has everything from restaurants, cafes, bars, markets, world-class surf and more. General Luna is by far the place to be when visiting Siargao Island in the Philippines.
However, there are some other awesome areas away from the busy tourist hub of General Luna that you may want to consider which I have also included in this Siargao Accommodation Guide.
In this guide of where to stay in Siargao, I’m going to be showing you a range of different places, from Luxury to Mid-Range and all the way down to Budget accommodations in Siargao.
There are plenty of Siargao resorts to choose from so I’ll be picking out the best of the best for this guide on where to stay in Siargao.

BEST LUXURY HOTELS IN GENERAL LUNA
LUXURY: Daluyong Beach Resort
Daluyong Beach Resort is said to be one of the best resorts in Siargao. Offering outdoor swimming pools, private beaches, a bar and a shared garden area, this 4-star resort is the epitome of luxury Siargao resorts. To stay here you’re looking at around $500 USD for a week’s stay, dependent on the time of year you travel.
Daluyong Beach Resort is located in General Luna with General Luna Beach just 50 yards away from the resort. Cloud 9 surfing beach is also just a 20-minute walk away and a whole bunch of restaurants less than half a mile away.
All rooms at this Siargao luxury resort come with a balcony and a poolside view. With private bathrooms, large comfortable beds, wifi, flat-screen TV’s and air-con, you really are in heaven at the Daluyong Beach Resort.
With this being a little bit special and a little more on the pricey side, Daluyong Beach Resort is recommended for couples. Whether you’re a traveling couple or even if this is your honeymoon, the Daluyong Beach Resort is perfect for the two of you.
LUXURY: Siargao Sunset Bay Beach Villas
One of the most expensive places to stay in Siargao is the Siargao Sunset Bay Beach Villas, and for good reason. If it’s luxury you’re looking for, then this is the one for you. With outdoor pools, beachfront villas and Cloud 9 surfing bay just a few minutes walk away, Siargao Sunset Bay Beach Villas has it all. For a whopping $1066 USD per week, this could all be yours.
As I mentioned, this Siargao resort is just a few minutes walk from Cloud 9 surfing bay. With supermarkets and restaurants just 0.3 miles away, this Siargao resort is really in the perfect spot!
Offering wifi, cable TV and air-con, this is sure to feel like your home away from home. Every room has a garden view, BBQ, terrace, sauna and even soundproofing. With some of them offering kitchen areas for you to be able to cook your own food.
Couples, in particular, have been favored to book this Siargao resort, however, if you and friends are looking for somewhere a little more luxury whilst also wanting an active holiday, this could be for you. With the option to hire paddle boards and surfboards, if you’re wanting a holiday by the water, you may not need to look any further when searching for where to stay in Siargao.
LUXURY: The Hillside Resort
Next up on the list has to be one of the nicest resorts in Siargao, The Hillside Resort. With private rooms, hot tubs, stunning swimming pools and wifi throughout, Hillside Siargao Resort caters to everyone. With places to store your luggage and 24-hour front desk operations, you can come and go as you please.
Again located in the hub of General Luna, The Hillside Resort is surrounded by beaches & restaurants. With Guyam Island just 2 miles away and Daku Island 4 miles away, everything is well within reach of this epic Siargao resort. What travelers love about this resort is the fact it’s located on the back roads, giving a little more peace and privacy to their stay.
The Hillside Villa come up trumps with their rooms. At 269 square feet, you have your own bungalow equipped with air-con, wifi, TV, a minibar, patio areas, free toiletries and even a mosquito net!
The Hillside Villa pride themselves in not only catering to couples but also to families. Offering family bungalows, big enough of everyone to stay. This resort really is suitable for everyone.
LUXURY: Retreat Siargao Resort
Still luxury, yet a little more affordable, Retreat Resort in Siargao is a slightly larger resort than the others. With a huge outdoor swimming and just steps away from Malinao Beach, Retreat Siargao Resort has a great accommodation with bars, restaurants and free parking on site. This General Luna Siargao hotel is of great value for money.
As I mentioned, it is just steps away from Malinao Beach and only a 12 minute walk from General Luna Beach. Fancy walking a little further? Doot Beach is just 1.3 miles away. This one, however, is a little further away from other shops, with the closest supermarket being 3.7 miles away.
The rooms in this Siargao resort are quite spectacular. With sea and pool views, streaming services like Netflix, wifi, minibars, patios, terraces and even robes, you’re definitely not going to miss home when staying at Retreat Siargao Resort.
Another Siargao resort that’s great for both couples and families. Striking the balance between romance and fun. If you’re a couple, enjoy time spent down by the beach or getting a couples massage. If you’re a family then the kids can spend hours jumping in and out of the huge pool on site.
LUXURY: Reef Beach Resort
Again, coming down a little in price here but keeping luxury at an all-time high! You can enojoy a luxury stay in the Reef Beach Resort. With an outdoor pool, wifi throughout the resort and just a short walk to the famous Cloud 9 Surf. Reef Beach Resort is a perfect choice when looking for where to stay in Siargao and has to be a contender for the best resort in Siargao. It even has a free gym!
Just 1 mile away from Cloud 9 and only 0.6 miles away from shops, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets, Reef Beach Resort is located perfectly. General Luna beach is just 6.6 yards away and the airport is less than 10 miles.
The standard room at Reef Beach Resort is 337 square feet with an attached bathroom, free wifi, air-con, soundproofing and a balcony with a great view. The standard room also comes with free continental breakfast.
With this being a slightly smaller, more intimate Siargao resort, this one is definitely recommended for couples to enjoy.
BEST MID-RANGE HOTELS IN GENERAL LUNA
Let’s move on and talk about more affordable Siargao accommodation options. These places to stay in Siargao are the more mid-range prices and great value for money!
MID RANGE: Emerald House Village
Emerald House Village is the first on the list of mid-range places when searching for where stay in Siargao. A family and pet-friendly resort, offering a free grill to cook on, beautiful gardens and rustic rooms, this is great if you’re wanting to enjoy Siargao but not break the bank on luxury accommodation. You and your family could enjoy a weeks stay at the Emerald House Village.
Just a 6 minute walk away from General Luna Beach and Cloud 9 only a 4 minute walk, this Siargao hotel is located perfectly. If you’re wanting to explore the surrounding areas, Guyam Island is only 2.6 miles away.
This Siargao resort is perfect for families, with the family villa offering two bedrooms spread across 800 square feet. Equipped with free wifi, air-con, a safe and balconies with stunning garden views. The family room also contains 1 bedroom with a queen bed and the 2nd bedroom with a twin bed and a queen bed.
Families looking for a great adventure but not wanting to spend a fortune on Siargao accommodation. With large rooms, giving the families more than enough space.
MID RANGE: Chill Out Surf Shacks
Chill Out Surf Shacks is one of the more unique accommodations in Siargao. With individual shacks offering beachside views, gardens and a private beach area, this is definitely an ‘as it says on the tin’ accommodation, a chill-out shack.
This is a 10/10 for location with the shacks being right on the beach. Just steps away from General Luna Beach and Guyam Island only a 7 minute walk away. Cloud 9 Surf Beach is a little further out, being 2.4 miles away from the property.
Individual shacks offering private rooms, garden views, air-cons and mosquito nets. Large comfortable beds with hammocks out the front. You’re definitely going to feel chilled out here at this epic Siargao resort.
This Siargao resort is great for travelers and backpackers that are looking for where to stay in Siargao and wanting a little break from hostels to feel super chilled out and enjoy their time by the beach.
MID RANGE: Gana Siargao Island Resort
Welcome to one of the top picks of where to stay in Siargao. If you’re wanting luxury on a budget, then this is the place for you. With white marble buildings, beautiful clean rooms and the beach right on your doorstep this could be the perfect Siargao resort for you.
Another Siargao resort right on the beach with General Luna Beach just steps away. Cloud 9 surfing beach is only 1 mile away and shops and restaurants are less than 0.2 miles away.
All rooms come with balconies, wifi, air-con, all located on the ground floor and even a rack for your surfboard to dry. Landmark views and terraces are also optional in some of the other rooms.
This Siargao resort prides itself on catering for everyone. From couples to backpackers and even families. Gana Siargao Island Resort has it all.
MID RANGE: Jadestar Lodge
Jadestar Lodge is just a few steps from General Luna Beach and a 20 minute walk from Malinao Beach. This Siargao hotel offers simple accommodation, friendly staff and private rooms with the option of room service.
Located right on General Luna Beach and close to other beaches such as Malinao, Jadestar Lodge is in a great spot. With Guyam and Daku Island both less than 3 miles away.
Very simple rooms, with air-con, toiletries, private bathrooms and the offer of room service. This Siargao resort is great if your main focus is the adventure and not a fancy accommodation.
This is targeted towards travelers, backpackers and those couples who are traveling together.
MID RANGE: Katmon House
If you are still reading this post I take it that you’re still looking for where to stay in Siargao? Well, Katmon House located in General Luna might just be the perfect spot for you. Katmon House is a unique guest house, on the beach with an open-living attitude. This property is reasonably priced and one of the best value-pick Siargao accommodation you will find!
Set back a little from the beach, General Luna beach is a 7 minute walk away and half a mile away from Cloud 9 Surfing Beach. The good thing about this being set back from the hustle and bustle, is you get more privacy during your stay.
The rooms are stunning here. An open living guesthouse with each place providing a closet, free wifi, a balcony and refrigerator. These rooms are great for those who enjoy cooking and want to spend some evenings in the room.
Couples. The guesthouses here only come with a double bed. So unless you’re very close to your friends and don’t mind sharing, this one is one for the couples.
BEST BUDGET HOTELS IN GENERAL LUNA
This one goes out to the backpackers, travelers and budget ballers amongst us. Here are a few of the best places to stay in General Luna on a budget when searching for where to stay in Siargao!
BUDGET: Secret Spot Siargao
I personally stayed at Secret Spot Siargao and can’t recommend this place enough! This hostel offers mixed bunkbed rooms, of 20 beds, with a shared kitchen and facilities available, guests can also enjoy a la carte or American breakfasts which are included in the price. If you want to chill out and read a book, there are some hammocks slung up between the palm trees in the front gardens!
The hostel is located in the heart of General Luna with Naked Island just 5 miles away, Guyam Island is 1.4 miles whilst Daku Island is 1.4 miles away. If you’re wanting to visit Cloud 9 Surfing Beach, this is 3.6 miles away from this Siargao hostel.
The rooms are very clean, simple hostel rooms. With bunk beds for mixed genders. All rooms are equipped with a terrace, patio garden view, electric teapot, shared bathroom and mosquito net.
Ideally solo backpackers, however, if you’re a traveling couple, be prepared to spend the night apart as the beds in this hostel are single beds.
BUDGET: Hiraya Surf Hostel
Another one of the best sellers for Siargao and probably one of the best places to stay in Siargao on budgets is Hiraya Surf Hostel. This Siargao accommodation has an outdoor pool, free private parking, a bar and a shared lounge.
Situated just 4 minutes away from General Luna and a 2 minute walk from Cloud 9 Surf Beach, this has to be a top pick for the budget section of this where to stay in Siargao guide.
All equipped with air-con, shared bathrooms, single bunk beds and access to the private pool. Some rooms also have a seating area.
Couples have highly rated this accommodation but again, this one is recommended for the backpackers out there.
BUDGET: Coco Pod Siargao
Beware, this Siargao resort is usually sold out. Coco Pod Siargao offers a shared lounge, hostel accommodation just a 3 minute walk from General Luna. With free private parking, a garden area and BBQ facilities. What’s even better? A continental breakfast is included for all guests.
Another really well-located accommodation, just 3 minutes away from General Luna and 1.1 miles away from Cloud 9 Surfing beach. You can also hire bikes or cars from here to get yourself around the island.
You’ll be staying in a single bed, within a 10-bed dorm. All equipped with a shared bathroom, outdoor BBQ area, dining table and kitchenware.
Another one for the backpackers and traveling couples. This is also really good if you’re a solo traveler as there are plenty of activities like darts and hanging around the pool, to socialise with other guests.
Budget: Balay Hayahay Hostel
Balay Hayahay is a budget-friendly hostel centrally located in General Luna. This Siargao hostel features a shared kitchen and chill-out zone with hammocks, perfect for a lazy day on the island!
Situated in the heart of General Luna, just minutes walk to the General Luna Beach. 2.6km away from Cloud 9 surfing area, 6km from Daku Island and Guyam Island is not too far to reach either.

Budget: 3 Kids Homestay Yellow

Mid-range: Mabuhay Siargao Casitas

Again in the town of Pilar, this accommodation offers a different perspective on Siargao. Located close to markets, restaurants and rock pools, this place is great if you’re wanting a more authentic stay in Siargao.

BEST BUDGET HOTELS IN DAPA
BUDGET: Buhay Isla Homestay
We can’t really call this one a Siargao resort, it’s more of a hostel. For this one though, I’ve picked one that’s out of the General Luna area and moved down to a place called Dapa. It is a dormitory set up, in a room with 11 other beds or you can choose to have a private room instead!
A great location in the center of Dapa Town. Close to shopping, restaurants and cafes. It’s also a great way of seeing something other than the General Luna area of Siargao.
Very basic but that’s what it is if you’re on a budget. All dorm rooms have 11 beds in them, are fully equipped with air-con and a flat-screen TV. The private rooms can sleep up to 4 people and wifi is available.
Backpackers on a budget. If you’re happy to share and you’re okay with that hostel vibe, then this is the one for you when searching for where to stay in Siargao.
BUDGET: Comahig Beach House
A little more luxury than the last one but still keeping within a good budget. Comahig Beach House is another great Siargao accommodation option that also skips out on staying in General Luna. Located in the Dapa area, this time just steps away from Union Beach. Comahig offers private accommodations, with gardens, free parking and a private beach.
Just steps away from Union Beach, in Dapa. Doot Beach is just a 7 minute walk away whilst Mainao Beach is 0.4 miles away.
All guest rooms at this Siargao resort are equipped with air-con, wifi, a seating area and a closet. All rooms also have a terrace and a large comfortable bed.

The peak tourist season in Siargao is in the dry season which is between the months of March and October. The off-peak season in Siargao is during the wet season which is generally between November and February.
For surfers visiting Siargao Island the best months for surfing is during the swell season which is August through to November.

SIARGAO TRANSPORTATION – GETTING AROUND
The best way to get around Siargao island is on a scooter. The cost for a scooter rental is around 300-400 pesos per day or for a monthly rental you’ll get a cheaper rate of 200-300 pesos per day.
Most Siargao accommodations will be more than happy to help you to organise a scooter rental for your time spent on Siargao island.
Petrol can be found on the side of the road out the front of small local houses/businesses in the majority of the main villages on Siargao. Petrol is sold in 1-litre glass bottles for 60 pesos per bottle.
